London Great Mental Health Day celebrates its second year on Friday 27 January This year, the Day celebrates the power of community kindness which has often been the main driving force behind supporting us all through the past couple of years.
Kindness is essential for our mental wellbeing, as being nice to others boost our self-esteem and increases happiness as well as strengthening communities.
In Lambeth, we plan to celebrate our amazing communities in two ways a community walk on Friday the 27 January, visiting some of the brilliant organisations and activities supporting mental wellbeing in our community in the Brixton area.
Please feel free to join us at any point of the walk
The plan for the walk is as follows:
• 11am. Meet at entrance of Kennington Station, for those who want a longer walk. We will be leaving at 11:10 sharp to head to 336 Brixton Road.
• 12pm – 12:50pm. Reach 336 Brixton Road for activities on how we can support our wellbeing. Please feel free to bring a sandwich or a snack for lunch.
• 1pm – 1:40pm. Move to the SHARP Gallery (308 Brixton Rd, London SW9 6AA) for a chance to engage in an activity about art and new ways to experience London.
• 2:30pm – 4pm. Join the Joy of Sound, a participatory music and dance session at the Brixton Windmill Education Centre (100 Blenheim Gardens, SW2 5DA).
