Jamille shared his story when he first got his job at Resonance FM – here the podcast maestro updates on the journey thus far…
I worked at Resonance FM from 2020 to 2021 as a broadcast assistant, organising guest appearances and writing scripts. I love radio, listening and creating. So this job was a dream and was supported by DASL (Disability Advice Service Lambeth) a charity based in Brixton.
In 2021, when the contract finished at DASL, I looked for jobs in schools as a TA (teaching assistant), I had a few rejections but then a job came up at an after-school club at a primary school as a playworker. I got the job after a nervous zoom interview. I wasn’t sure how the interview would go with internet/ wi fi etc. I started in September 2021 and am enjoying it . I recently started a podcast with Year 6 children. The first episode was about Internet Safety Week. I am looking forward to this project.
I did a podcast last year with Woodcraft Folk for 10-12 year-olds, creating different segments that I am busy editing now. But the children enjoyed it.
I still do radio shows on Pixel fm spreaker.com – Tuesdays 10am, Fridays 10:30am, and I recently started a radio show called Chart Through the Years 1950s to the present day, Sundays at 4pm.
I have been attending Mosaic Clubhouse since 2018 and I am doing a podcast called Mo talks, with another member Dylan; he is a great co host and friend. We interview Mosaic staff and members and we are always looking for people to tell their stories.
