On this World AIDS Day December 1 2023 we send congratulations to Liz Dickson, social worker, from CASCAID, SLAM’s (South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust) HIV Mental Health Team. Liz who is raising funds for Positively UK took part in the 5K World AIDS Day Red Run in Victoria Park, held annually on the last Saturday in November.
The World AIDS Day RED RUN is a charity fun run and walk that unites the HIV sector to raise awareness and vital funds for HIV support and prevention projects. Liz is passionate about supporting charities that raise awareness of the realities of living with HIV and help to reduce shame and stigma. Positively UK stands up for the dignity and rights of those living with HIV, they provide practical and emotional support, run workshops and groups and offer peer mentoring. Liz says she chose to take part in this year’s Red Run ‘as a way to contribute crucial funds to this exceptional cause. By doing so, I hope to play a part in helping those living with HIV to lead fulfilling lives’.
